Training for "something".

Anything, really.  I cannot NOT be training for something else I'll sit on my ass and grow it.  That's not an option.

Thurs: 5.5 in the hood and it felt like I was running in an oven.  Ran it in 60:03.  Suuucks, but did it.  Yay.

Fri: Rest for Saturday Masters match.

Saturday (tonight): Only 8 players on the opponent's team, so basically putzed around for about 70 minutes.  Hardly the workout I expected.

Hopefully 5.5 tomorrow at some point.

Injury #20 something.

Two weekends of ankle crunching games equals lots of pain and swelling. Injuries like these make me want to hang up the boots... For like a week! What will it take? I'm not 20 anymore.

Ouch!

I jacked up my ankle last night. Went in for a tackle the same time my opponent took a swing. We both missed the ball and it was his striking foot vs my ankle. It hurts. Futsal today. I'm having a hard time just walking. Maybe some ibuprofen, tape, magic spray can get me through it. It's going to suck to run on it. Don't think anythings broken, since I'm still walking, but it's pretty swollen. Oh well. Game on.

Slackity slack!

Ok, I'm back.  Geeze, I can't focus on anything these days.

Updates
Perimeter Relay: Full team now.  Mostly a recreational team, but I hope to have only one 4 mile leg.  I have my first masters game that night, and national practice has been kicking my ass and jacking up my knees.  Don't know how much I can contribute after 8 miles in the morning.

Women's League: Futsal starts this Saturday.  Didn't want to play, but we WERE short so I committed.  Then 3 more decided they wanted to play.  What the hell?!  Take my spot then.  I don't want to play futsal unless we go to 45 minute halves.

Marianas Cup: In training, but I'm not enjoying it.  The game will be played on June 19th in Saipan.  Maybe having the chance to drink the entire weekend and not have to worry about logistics will be fun. I mini vaca'.

Practice tonight.  Yay.

Run with the big dogs!

I got in 2 hours of pick up soccer with the pick up gang today.  God, it felt so good to run hard like that and get banged up.  It makes me feel human.  It's good preparation for the upcoming co-ed, old fart's league.

I asked Sue and the sisters to run the Perimeter relay with me.  I think it'll be awesome for the three of them to add this to their "BTDT and got the shirt" list.  With all of the 5k's they've run, I know they can handle it.  What a great way to spend time with family, huh?  In pain?

In other "shoot me now" news, the damn car won't start.  The dudes in the family say it's a starter problem.  I love how the all these things happen when John's gone.  Am I being tested?  Punk'd?  Ai, 'sus.

I don't wanna talk about it.

My beloved got their asses handed to them in a carry on to take home as a parting gift.  I'm too bummed to talk about it.

Hit the gym today for a light workout to rest my lower legs.  I did a 10/10/3.5/10, which was 10 on the treadmill, 10 on the elliptical, 3.5 on the stairmaster (until it dumped my ass off because I couldn't work it out), and then 10 frustrated minutes on the treadmill again.  Light cardio focus. I was going to run hard again to work off the pork adobo I ate for lunch, but I didn't feel like it.  I'm moody like that.

John comes home on the 28th, woo hoo!  Single parenting is not for the weak, so it's not for me.  These kids are running my ass ragged.  I need to tap out!  I can't wait till he gets home.  I talked to him tonight and told him that as soon as he gets here, the littlest one is all his to boss him around.  I'm so done with that.  She's cute as heck, but boy she's got 'tude!  I'm hoping this week will fly right by.

Tomorrow will be pretty relaxed here at home, then Sunday I'm hoping to catch a co-ed pickup game.  I miss those.  I love playing against guys and getting pushed to my limits.  Nothing like feeling as if you dropped your lungs somewhere on the pitch.  Crossing my fingers Papa will sit for a couple hours so I can get my football fix.

The end.

I Love Kontendas!

So, I'm back at Kontendas and I was reminded of why I'm a member of that gym.  It's the only place where your well behaved kid is welcome and is allowed to play at the basketball court while he waits for you to finish your workout.  I love them, and I love the McCreadies.

I started day one of my training for the Perimeter Relay.  3.1 miles in 32:20.  Holy shit, that's slow.  It didn't hurt though, and I felt "good", which means my arms weren't flailing wildly, and I didn't have that gangtsa gait by 20 minutes into the run.

My soccer team gave me a $100 gift card for GPO (I love those girls!), and what fabulous timing because I absolutely need a new pair of runners. The support is worn out in my current ones.

The over 35 co-ed leagues starts April 24th and our team looks to be pretty competitive.  It's also got all the boys from the previously banned "Rowdies" team, so it should be interesting.  I have a feeling Kyung and I will be playing 5th and 6th officials to keep our team from getting banned.  Oh, well.  Always a good time when you have to peel 6', 250 pound "Miles" off of the referees.  Oh, special!  I just realized that both the relay and the first game is on the same day!  Thank God John will be home by then because I'll be comatose at the end of that day.

3.1 miles down, 29420398727 more to go.
