Day 3, and finding the legs again.
3.5 in 37:39 and a good stretch. Got the little kids and met up with BFF and her kids for the beach. Lovely, hot mothertrucker of a day. Kids LOVED it at least. Worth the farmer's tan.
Day 2. Owie!
30 minutes walking on the treadmill because my ankle is a whiny witch. What is wrong with it? It snaps, snags, and swells all crazy. I'm so tired of it making working out a PIA. Abs and arms as well. Blech.

UUGGGHHHH... Day 1 of Restart 345794754987!
Tummy bug. Only 25 minutes on the dreadmill at snail pace.

Training for "something".
Anything, really. I cannot NOT be training for something else I'll sit on my ass and grow it. That's not an option.
Thurs: 5.5 in the hood and it felt like I was running in an oven. Ran it in 60:03. Suuucks, but did it. Yay.
Fri: Rest for Saturday Masters match.
Saturday (tonight): Only 8 players on the opponent's team, so basically putzed around for about 70 minutes. Hardly the workout I expected.
Hopefully 5.5 tomorrow at some point.

Injury #20 something.
Two weekends of ankle crunching games equals lots of pain and swelling. Injuries like these make me want to hang up the boots... For like a week! What will it take? I'm not 20 anymore.

Ouch!
I jacked up my ankle last night. Went in for a tackle the same time my opponent took a swing. We both missed the ball and it was his striking foot vs my ankle. It hurts. Futsal today. I'm having a hard time just walking. Maybe some ibuprofen, tape, magic spray can get me through it. It's going to suck to run on it. Don't think anythings broken, since I'm still walking, but it's pretty swollen. Oh well. Game on.

For REAL!
I'm back on it, doggonit! 3 mile run in approximately 30+ minutes. No way I was timing that crap run. It was a re-intro to the road run, and it was not pretty. My feet and legs were spoiled the last few months by the soft, give of the treadmill. I think I looked like Igor. Felt like Igor.
It's on like Donkey Kong. Yeah, I always say that. For REAL this time. Honest.

Slackity slack!
Ok, I'm back. Geeze, I can't focus on anything these days.
Updates
Perimeter Relay: Full team now. Mostly a recreational team, but I hope to have only one 4 mile leg. I have my first masters game that night, and national practice has been kicking my ass and jacking up my knees. Don't know how much I can contribute after 8 miles in the morning.
Women's League: Futsal starts this Saturday. Didn't want to play, but we WERE short so I committed. Then 3 more decided they wanted to play. What the hell?! Take my spot then. I don't want to play futsal unless we go to 45 minute halves.
Marianas Cup: In training, but I'm not enjoying it. The game will be played on June 19th in Saipan. Maybe having the chance to drink the entire weekend and not have to worry about logistics will be fun. I mini vaca'.
Practice tonight. Yay.

Officially a soccermom!
Ok, so I haven't worked out in 3 days. I suck, I know, but while I was slacking off, we got a new car to replace John's dead 1994 Nissan Sentra (may she rest in peace).
John and the kids LOVE it.
Yeah, I slacked again. I pinky swear with both pinkies that I will work out tomorrow. I'm being LAZY.

I be slackin'!
Alright, alright. I'll fess. I've been lazy since John got back. It's so nice to see him though. I've missed him and have been enjoying his company, which means I've been sleeping in and lounging while he takes care of business, haha!
Anyway, I did get a very thorough workout on Sunday with the pick up gang, then I had practice for the Marianas Cup on Monday. Yesterday and today though were crap. Yesterday we looked at a new car and then ate at Chili's. John and the kids had fajitas and pizza while I ate $5 special margaritas. Yum-o!
Today we picked up our new Mazda 5. We celebrated with a bottle of wine (for me) and a drive around the southern end of the island (John drove, promise!).
Back on track tomorrow, I pinky swear. Either a 5 miler or the gym. I need BOTH to work off today's meals. I had the most fabulous local meal at lunch. Stuffed crabs and canned sardines cooked in coconut milk with lots of green and red healthy stuff. YUM.
I'll be back to tell you just how hard I worked to earn such diet devastating meals. Peace out. One love.

For dinner I made the most awesome chicken enchiladas this end of Guam. They are delicious, but chock full of everything I try to avoid on the daily.

Bring it, Napoli.
"Put me in coach. I'm ready to play! Look at me... I can be... center-field...". I think that's how the song goes. Game on, babies. I'm crossing fingers and toes for the boys to do it this time. John had this beauty made for me in Korea. Has my name and numba' on the back, but I'm not posting that because it makes me look fat. Let's do it.
Oh, no workout. Didn't feel like, ok?

Is it Friday yet?
Blech! At the last minute I made today my rest day since I've decided to run the Kick the Fat 5k on Saturday, and now I must find something else to do that involves lots of sweating and kids because I'm a dumbass. John's not coming home till Sunday, crack-o-dawn. I walked 2 miles in 34:00. I almost gouged my eyes out it was so boring, but I did it and now I can have a cookie.
I'm tired.

Same stuff. Different day.
I'm tired and irritated. Mia threw the mother of all fits in her daycare parking lot that started with "I don't want to ride in your car" and moved to "I want caaandyyyyyy" for the entire 20 minute ride home, plus another 1/2 an hour at home.
Dreadmill run of 3.5 miles in 36:06.

Week 2 of Perimeter Relay Training
It looks like I may be doing the longer portions of the relay, which are 4 miles long for a total of 8ish. This week will focus on 3.5 miles as the minimum. Today I ran 3.5 on the dreadmill in 40:10. Hopefully this will improve as the week goes on, and my reward will be a workout free and eat whatever the hell I want Saturday.
As for "shoot me now" news, the car needs a new starter and other shit. $590+ so far. Lovely.

Run with the big dogs!
I got in 2 hours of pick up soccer with the pick up gang today. God, it felt so good to run hard like that and get banged up. It makes me feel human. It's good preparation for the upcoming co-ed, old fart's league.
I asked Sue and the sisters to run the Perimeter relay with me. I think it'll be awesome for the three of them to add this to their "BTDT and got the shirt" list. With all of the 5k's they've run, I know they can handle it. What a great way to spend time with family, huh? In pain?
In other "shoot me now" news, the damn car won't start. The dudes in the family say it's a starter problem. I love how the all these things happen when John's gone. Am I being tested? Punk'd? Ai, 'sus.

New tools!
I finally found my favorite Brooks GTS9 Adrenaline runners. These things are so hard to find in my size. It's on like Donkey Kong.
Lock your doors!
What the hell is going on here?! I remember when you could leave your doors open at night while you slept, and now you can't even leave for work without coming home to shit missing from your front yard. We had a drug related murder of a man with a wife and 3 young kids about 2 weeks ago. The suspects ranged from 16 years of age to early 20's. Now a dead man has been found right on my nephew's street. I'm adding another lock to the door.

I don't wanna talk about it.
My beloved got their asses handed to them in a carry on to take home as a parting gift. I'm too bummed to talk about it.
Hit the gym today for a light workout to rest my lower legs. I did a 10/10/3.5/10, which was 10 on the treadmill, 10 on the elliptical, 3.5 on the stairmaster (until it dumped my ass off because I couldn't work it out), and then 10 frustrated minutes on the treadmill again. Light cardio focus. I was going to run hard again to work off the pork adobo I ate for lunch, but I didn't feel like it. I'm moody like that.
John comes home on the 28th, woo hoo! Single parenting is not for the weak, so it's not for me. These kids are running my ass ragged. I need to tap out! I can't wait till he gets home. I talked to him tonight and told him that as soon as he gets here, the littlest one is all his to boss him around. I'm so done with that. She's cute as heck, but boy she's got 'tude! I'm hoping this week will fly right by.
Tomorrow will be pretty relaxed here at home, then Sunday I'm hoping to catch a co-ed pickup game. I miss those. I love playing against guys and getting pushed to my limits. Nothing like feeling as if you dropped your lungs somewhere on the pitch. Crossing my fingers Papa will sit for a couple hours so I can get my football fix.
The end.

Make Mama proud, Juventus!
My beloved plays Fulham tonight, and they are down to their 3rd string for defense. Let's hope it's true that Fulham is a more defending team than a scoring one. Go, Juve!
Ran 3.5 on the treadmill. It kicked my ass and my legs are so stiff now that I'm walking around looking like I have a stick up my butt. My 5k portion I did in 31:20. I started off pretty slow hoping to be content with a slow long run, but running slow makes it take longer! I sped it up to finish the 3.1 pretty quickly then gimped the rest of it.
Sat in on the women's league meeting for Tracy tonight. Futsal starts April 9th, and I'm not all that excited. We have a kabillion players and I always feel bad about anyone sitting out very long. I want to sit out the rest of this season and just enjoy the co-ed league. I guess we'll see who commits first.

Down like a sniper hit me!
Nothing worse than leg cramps, except maybe leg cramps naked in the shower! I totally went down, it hurt so bad, but while writhing on the shower deck, I kept thinking how funny it would look if someone were to come in to lift my leg in the air and stretch it like they do in football games. It helped to lessen the pain. I'm ok though. No permanent damage and I'm walking again.
Hit the dreaded tread' again. I ran 3.1 miles in 30:15. Shaved off a couple minutes, but it was painful. I almost threw up my pork pad thai that I was trying desperately to burn off. Tomorrow I'll run long and slow since I'm pretty sure my leg will be tight after that cramp.
Day 2 down. Plenty more to go.

Reunion!
I bought Tiff's tix home. I can't wait to see that beautiful girl again. My first born, my savior. I haven't felt this lifted in a long time. I miss that girl and I can't wait to hold her again.
I Love Kontendas!
So, I'm back at Kontendas and I was reminded of why I'm a member of that gym. It's the only place where your well behaved kid is welcome and is allowed to play at the basketball court while he waits for you to finish your workout. I love them, and I love the McCreadies.
I started day one of my training for the Perimeter Relay. 3.1 miles in 32:20. Holy shit, that's slow. It didn't hurt though, and I felt "good", which means my arms weren't flailing wildly, and I didn't have that gangtsa gait by 20 minutes into the run.
My soccer team gave me a $100 gift card for GPO (I love those girls!), and what fabulous timing because I absolutely need a new pair of runners. The support is worn out in my current ones.
The over 35 co-ed leagues starts April 24th and our team looks to be pretty competitive. It's also got all the boys from the previously banned "Rowdies" team, so it should be interesting. I have a feeling Kyung and I will be playing 5th and 6th officials to keep our team from getting banned. Oh, well. Always a good time when you have to peel 6', 250 pound "Miles" off of the referees. Oh, special! I just realized that both the relay and the first game is on the same day! Thank God John will be home by then because I'll be comatose at the end of that day.

GRC's 2010 Running Schedule
I'm going to knock out the rest of this year. I've had it with my lazy ways. I haven't had a good run in ages, and I'm forgetting what it feels like to run further than from the car to the front door of Pattaya Restaurant. I'm turning a year older here real quick (Damn!), and I haven't run to compete since some slackish flat, 5k. earlier this year. First up, I need to find a team for the Perimeter Relay coming up April 24th.
Update: Tracy and I will put a team together if GEAR isn't the same weekend, which she'll be competing in. She's way ahead of me with her "bucket list".
I don't know how I'm going to find any time to train for it with John gone. I'm hoping today I can ask my Dad to watch the kids while I just run down his road and back for 30 minutes. I haven't run in so long, I don't even want to guess how few miles will be run in that time, but I need to starttoday maybe tomorrow (because I'm freaking tired), even if I crawl it.
